Vocational Training program
Lack of quality education has left rural people lag behind their urban counterparts. The youth lacks skills which can fetch livelihood opportunities for them.
The main objective of this program is to “empower young people to realize their potential through improving their technical skills and helping integrate a new style of learning, hence educating them according to society needs and preparing them for the requirements of the job market”.
Watan Foundation plans to establish vocational training centres in various parts of the country to enable uneducated youth to learn new skills and make a living. We have established our first training centre in Jacobabad city which imparts trainings and identifies jobs in the following fields.
Computing Skills (Hardware, software & Networking) |
Security personnel Training & Recruitment |
Professional drivers course for light vehicles |
Mobile Phone Repairing & Maintenance |
Sewing & tailoring (For local women) |
Short hand and typing skills (For applying in Government jobs) |
Trainings are for both men & women in separate batches, giving due respect to local culture. Professional trainers are hired to conduct these trainings in a safe & effective manner. All trainings are complemented with learning of the English Language and Computing Skills. More than 100 jobs have been identified for the trainees and inducted in various organizations.
To date we have trained more than 265 men & women in different disciplines and more than 40% have been able to secure jobs through efforts put in by Watan Foundation.
